DNG Brings Broadband to Underserved Eastern Shore through Technology & Innovation

HERNDON, Va., January 27, 2016 /CIT Highlights/ – Declaration Networks Group (DNG), headquartered in Vienna, VA, is utilizing publically funded fiber networks to extend broadband services through use of innovative technology. DNG’s dynamic high-speed Internet solutions are currently being delivered to the underserved Eastern Shore of Virginia. Under the brand name, NeuBeam™, the company offers a fixed wireless service that uses a blend of unlicensed spectrum including TV White Space. This innovative technology approach enables DNG to provide broadband to previously unserved/underserved communities at connection speeds that rival fiber.

DNG leverages the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority’s (ESVBA) middlemile fiber network, as well as publically-owned assets such as community water towers and utility poles. The company blends this with private investment to provide affordable, reliable, high-speed Internet to residential and small business customers.

NeuBeam™ was launched on the Eastern Shore – Accomack and Northampton counties – in June 2015. Together, the counties comprise a total population of approximately 45,000 residents and 20,000 households, many of which are considered unserved or underserved. DNG’s network is currently providing service to 15 communities within the two counties and the company plans to extend its service throughout the Eastern Shore over the next two years.

Residential and business customers are receiving up to 30Mbps download and 10Mbps upload with no data caps, which is up to 15 times faster than the typical DSL connection. The availability of high capacity bandwidth is allowing Eastern Shore residents to take advantage of broadband-enabled opportunities that were out of their reach before. DNG co-founder, Barry Toser, says,

“People of all ages are reporting life changing experiences with their newfound abilities to stream movies, complete educational projects and watch learning based videos, play games, download music, use social media, shop online and work from home.”
